Restoring Manufacturing Capability for
Obsolete Motorcycle Parts
Introduction
Motorcycle pro-shop M-tech faced a challenge in producing a critical elastomeric component for a harness dust cover needed by a motorcycle manufacturer. This component required stringent performance standards for strength and durability, targeting professional users in the automotive industry. Traditional manufacturing methods proved inadequate, prompting M-tech to explore innovative production techniques. This case study examines how the company approached the design and manufacturing process to create a cost-effective, high-quality solution using Loctite® 3D IND402, meeting the motorcycle manufacturer’s specific requirements while overcoming typical industry constraints.
