Restoring Manufacturing Capability for
Obsolete Motorcycle Parts

Introduction

Motorcycle pro-shop M-tech faced a challenge in producing a critical elastomeric component for a harness  dust cover needed by a motorcycle manufacturer.  This component required stringent performance standards for strength and durability, targeting professional users in the automotive industry.   Traditional manufacturing methods proved inadequate, prompting M-tech to explore innovative production techniques.  This case study examines how the company approached the design and manufacturing process to create a cost-effective, high-quality solution using Loctite® 3D IND402, meeting the motorcycle manufacturer’s specific requirements while overcoming typical industry constraints.
